Overview

GOCS-H101 is a novel, first-in-class small molecule ophthalmic solution developed by Ocusun for the pharmacological treatment of cataracts. Unlike traditional surgical interventions, GOCS-H101 aims to treat cataracts by stabilizing lens proteins and preventing their aggregation. The drug functions as a molecular chaperone that binds to and stabilizes alpha-crystallin proteins within the ocular lens. By maintaining the solubility and structural integrity of these crystallins, GOCS-H101 has the potential to delay, prevent, or even reverse the lens opacification characteristic of cataracts. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials, representing a significant advancement in non-invasive ophthalmic therapy.
