Goflikicept is a heterodimeric recombinant fusion protein designed to neutralize both interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and interleukin-1α (IL-1α), key proinflammatory cytokines involved in various autoinflammatory and inflammatory diseases. It is comprised of the extracellular domains of human IL-1 receptor type 1 (IL-1R1) and IL-1 receptor accessory protein (IL‑1RAcP), fused to a mutant Fc portion of human IgG1. By binding with high affinity to IL‑1β and IL‑1α, goflikicept prevents their interaction with cell surface receptors, thereby inhibiting downstream signaling pathways that drive inflammation. Goflikicept has demonstrated efficacy in reducing systemic inflammation in conditions such as idiopathic recurrent pericarditis (IRP), familial Mediterranean fever, gouty arthritis, adult-onset Still’s disease, acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), pancreatitis, and SARS-CoV‑2 acute respiratory disease. The drug is administered subcutaneously; its half-life is approximately 10 days[2][3][5][6][7].
