Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gokshuradi Guggulu is a classical Ayurvedic polyherbal formulation primarily used for the treatment of urinary tract disorders and metabolic conditions. The preparation combines the diuretic and lithontriptic properties of Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) with the anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects of Guggulu (Commiphora mukul). It is traditionally indicated for conditions such as urolithiasis (kidney stones), urinary tract infections (UTI), dysuria, and gout. The formulation also contains Triphala (Amalaki, Bibhitaki, and Haritaki) and Trikatu (Ginger, Black Pepper, and Long Pepper), which enhance digestion and metabolic clearance. Its mechanism involves increasing urine output to flush out toxins and stones while reducing inflammation in the genitourinary tract through the modulation of inflammatory mediators and enzymatic pathways.
