This is an experimental mouthwash formulation containing biogenic gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) synthesized using *Pelargonium graveolens* (rose geranium) leaf extract through a green synthesis method. Developed by Ahmed Yousif Mahdi and colleagues at the University of Baghdad, the formulation utilizes the plant extract as both a reducing and stabilizing agent for the gold nanoparticles. It is being investigated as an antimicrobial agent for the treatment of gingivitis in children, intended as a biocompatible alternative to traditional chlorhexidine mouthwashes. The biogenic gold nanoparticles have demonstrated antibacterial and antifungal properties against common oral pathogens, including *Streptococcus mutans* and *Candida albicans*. In vitro studies have shown the formulation possesses low cytotoxicity and high biocompatibility with human fibroblasts.
