Overview

A combination therapy consisting of a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist and tamoxifen. GnRH agonists suppress ovarian function by desensitizing the pituitary gland, leading to decreased gonadotropin secretion and reduced estrogen production. Tamoxifen is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that blocks estrogen receptors in breast tissue. This combination is primarily used in premenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.
