Approved by the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) of China in November 2005, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic hysteritis (inflammation of the uterus), adnexitis (inflammation of the uterine appendages), and other gynecological inflammatory conditions. The drug is formulated as granules, though it is also available in soft capsule (Kang-Gong-Yan) and tablet (Kang Gong Yan Pian) forms.
