Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gong-yan-ping is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily used for the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and its sequelae, such as chronic pelvic pain, endometritis, and adnexitis. The drug is a combination of five herbal extracts: *Sanguisorba officinalis* (Di Yu), *Angelica sinensis* (Dang Gui), *Paeonia lactiflora* (Chi Shao), *Leonurus japonicus* (Yi Mu Cao), and *Cyperus rotundus* (Xiang Fu). It is manufactured by companies including Guizhou Long-Range Pharmaceutical. The therapeutic rationale is based on TCM principles of clearing heat, detoxification, and activating blood circulation to resolve stasis, which collectively provide anti-inflammatory and analgesic benefits in the pelvic cavity. It is widely used in clinical practice in China and often serves as a reference or control drug in trials for new gynecological anti-inflammatory treatments.
