Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gongxuining is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation, commonly used in China for the treatment of gynecological conditions such as dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation). It is not a single chemical entity but rather a multi-herbal preparation. The mechanism of action is not fully elucidated in Western pharmacology, but it is believed to exert effects through anti-inflammatory and analgesic pathways, possibly by modulating prostaglandin synthesis and improving uterine blood flow. There are no well-documented studies or regulatory approvals outside China, and its use remains primarily within the context of TCM.
