Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SYH9016 is an extended-release injectable formulation of goserelin acetate, a synthetic decapeptide analogue of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). Developed by Beijing Kangchuanglian Biopharmaceutical (a subsidiary or partner of CSPC Pharmaceutical Group), SYH9016 acts as a GnRH receptor agonist. Upon administration, it induces a transient increase in luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), followed by the downregulation of GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland. This results in the suppression of gonadotropin secretion and a subsequent fall in serum testosterone levels to castrate levels, which inhibits the growth of hormone-dependent prostate cancer. As an extended-release injection, SYH9016 aims to provide a more convenient or optimized delivery compared to traditional goserelin implants.
