Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GOVX-E301 is an investigational, single-dose Ebola vaccine developed by GeoVax Labs using the company’s modified vaccinia Ankara (MVA) viral vector platform to express non-infectious Ebola virus‑like particles displaying the Zaire Ebola virus (ZEBOV) glycoprotein, with the goal of rapidly inducing protective humoral and cellular immunity for epidemic response against the Zaire strain responsible for the 2014 West Africa outbreak.[1][3][5] The vaccine is being advanced in collaboration with U.S. government partners (including NIAID/NIH and CDC) as part of a broader filovirus vaccine program but has not reached late-stage clinical development or approval.[4][5][9]
