Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GOXOI is a branded generic formulation of febuxostat, a potent, non-purine selective inhibitor of xanthine oxidase, manufactured by Sinsan Pharmaceuticals. It is primarily indicated for the chronic management of hyperuricemia in patients with gout, a condition characterized by the deposition of urate crystals in joints and tissues. By inhibiting the xanthine oxidase enzyme, GOXOI effectively reduces the production of uric acid, thereby preventing crystal formation and managing elevated serum uric acid levels. The medication is available in 40mg and 80mg oral tablet formulations. Beyond its primary use in gout, GOXOI is also utilized to manage hyperuricemia in blood cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and as supportive care for patients with chronic kidney disease to control uric acid levels.
