Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gozetotide alf-18 (also known as `[18F]AlF-PSMA-HBED-CC` or `TLX593-Px`) is an investigational positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent (radiopharmaceutical) targeting prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) for the detection and staging of prostate cancer. It consists of the PSMA-11 ligand (gozetotide) labeled with fluorine-18 via an aluminum-fluoride ([18F]AlF) complex. This radiochemistry combines the imaging advantages of fluorine-18 (such as a longer half-life and higher resolution) with the convenience of kit-based workflows typically associated with gallium-68. Originally developed by Ghent University and University Hospital Ghent, the agent is being co-developed by Telix Pharmaceuticals under its AlFluor™ platform. It is being evaluated for staging intermediate- and high-risk primary prostate cancer, detecting biochemical recurrence, and imaging other PSMA-expressing malignancies such as thyroid cancer and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
