Overview

GP + camrelizumab is a combination therapy consisting of the chemotherapy regimen "GP" (gemcitabine plus cisplatin) and the immune checkpoint inhibitor camrelizumab. Camrelizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, B cells, and natural killer cells. By blocking PD-1, camrelizumab prevents its interaction with PD-L1 on tumor cells, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses[3][4][5]. The GP regimen (gemcitabine and cisplatin) is a standard cytotoxic chemotherapy used in various solid tumors. This combination aims to leverage both direct cytotoxic effects from chemotherapy and immune-mediated anti-tumor activity from checkpoint inhibition. Camrelizumab has been developed primarily by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine for multiple cancer indications including hepatocellular carcinoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and non-small cell lung cancer[1][6].
