**gp100-DC vaccine** is a form of cancer immunotherapy in which **dendritic cells (DCs)** are loaded with peptides derived from **gp100** (glycoprotein 100, a melanocyte/melanoma-associated antigen) in order to stimulate a targeted anti-tumor immune response. This vaccine is designed for the treatment of melanoma, primarily targeting tumors that express gp100. The dendritic cells are often pulsed with either wild-type or modified gp100 peptides to enhance major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I binding and to elicit a stronger **CD8+ T cell-mediated immune response**. Clinical studies have involved administration via intravenous and intradermal routes, resulting in gp100-specific T cell responses and, in some patients, long-term clinical remissions[3]. The vaccine aims to mobilize antigen-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes capable of recognizing and attacking gp100-expressing melanoma cells.
