gp100v2 is a recombinant adenoviral vector-based genetic cancer vaccine that encodes the tumor-associated antigen gp100, a glycoprotein highly expressed in melanoma tissue. The vaccine is designed for *intradermal administration* to induce immune responses against melanoma by presenting gp100 antigen and activating tumor-specific T cells. Preclinical studies demonstrate that Ad2/gp100v2 provokes localized immune activation at injection sites and in draining lymph nodes, resulting in persistent inflammatory cell infiltrates and specific antitumor immunity. Toxicity is limited to local inflammation, with minimal systemic side effects.
