**gp145 C.6980** is an investigational recombinant oligomeric HIV-1 subtype C envelope glycoprotein subunit vaccine candidate. It uses a transmitted-founder clade C gp145 Env antigen to elicit Env-specific humoral immune responses intended to prevent HIV-1 infection. In the completed HVTN 122 Phase 1 study, intramuscular gp145 C.6980 administered with aluminum hydroxide was evaluated at 100 mcg and 300 mcg doses in healthy HIV-1-uninfected adults; the study assessed safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity.
