Overview

GP2 peptide (GLSI-100) is a 9-amino acid transmembrane peptide derived from the HER2/neu protein (residues 654-662). It is being developed by Greenwich LifeSciences as a cancer immunotherapy to prevent disease recurrence in patients with HER2/neu-expressing breast cancer who have achieved a disease-free state following standard treatment. The peptide is HLA-A2 and HLA-A3 restricted and is typically administered intradermally in combination with the immunoadjuvant granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). GP2 works by stimulating CD8+ cytotoxic T-lymphocytes to recognize and destroy residual HER2-expressing tumor cells. It is currently in a pivotal Phase III clinical trial (Flamingo-01) for HER2-positive breast cancer patients who have completed surgery and adjuvant trastuzumab therapy.
