GP30071 is a biosimilar candidate of dulaglutide, a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by the Russian pharmaceutical company Geropharm. It is a recombinant fusion protein consisting of two identical chains, each containing a human GLP-1 analogue sequence covalently linked to a modified human immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4) heavy chain fragment (Fc). This structural modification significantly extends the peptide's half-life, enabling once-weekly subcutaneous administration. GP30071 functions by binding to and activating the GLP-1 receptor, which stimulates insulin secretion and suppresses glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner, while also delaying gastric emptying. The drug is primarily intended for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control.
