GP40131 is a biosimilar of insulin degludec, a long-acting basal insulin analog originally developed by Novo Nordisk as Tresiba. Developed by the Russian pharmaceutical company Geropharm, GP40131 is a recombinant protein therapeutic designed for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. It functions by binding to and activating the insulin receptor, facilitating glucose uptake and regulating blood sugar levels over an extended period.
