GPC3-03-ICG is a targeted fluorescent imaging agent developed by Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, for the intraoperative detection and localization of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The probe consists of a targeting moiety (GPC3-03), which specifically binds to Glypican-3 (GPC3)—a cell-surface protein highly overexpressed in HCC but absent in normal liver tissue—conjugated to Indocyanine Green (ICG), a near-infrared fluorescent dye. During surgical procedures such as laparoscopic liver resection or ablation, the probe enables real-time visualization of tumor margins and satellite lesions through specific fluorescence staining. This targeted approach aims to improve the accuracy of tumor localization and the positivity rate of intraoperative detection compared to non-targeted imaging methods.
