Overview

**GPC3 CAR-T-AFP-CD3 cells** are a type of engineered cell therapy using *chimeric antigen receptor T cells* (CAR-T cells) designed to target **glypican-3 (GPC3)**, a cell surface antigen overexpressed in **hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)**, and possibly related to alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) expressing cells. The therapy employs T cells genetically modified to express a receptor targeting GPC3 (and, based on the name, potentially alpha-fetoprotein via a CD3-based signaling domain), leading to targeted cytotoxicity toward GPC3+/AFP+ liver cancer cells. CAR-T cell therapies for GPC3 are under clinical investigation for use in **advanced hepatocellular carcinoma** and have demonstrated the ability to target and destroy GPC3-positive (and often AFP-positive) HCC cells with a potentially manageable safety profile. These therapies are under early-phase clinical investigation and not yet approved for routine use[1][2][3].
