Overview

GPC3-CART cells represent a second-generation Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy. These engineered T cells are designed to specifically target Glypican-3 (GPC3), a protein often overexpressed in certain cancers. The CAR construct incorporates 4-1BB as a co-stimulatory domain, aiming to enhance T-cell proliferation, survival, and anti-tumor activity. The therapy is being investigated for intratumoral injection to concentrate T cells at the tumor site, potentially improving efficacy and reducing systemic side effects. Shanghai GeneChem Co., Ltd. is the lead sponsor of its development.
