GPC3 siRNA refers to small interfering RNA molecules designed to target and silence the expression of Glypican-3 (GPC3), a cell-surface heparan sulfate proteoglycan that is highly overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other cancers. By binding to GPC3 mRNA, the siRNA triggers its degradation via the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), thereby inhibiting GPC3 protein translation. This knockdown suppresses tumor cell proliferation, induces apoptosis, and reverses epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). GPC3 siRNA is widely utilized as a research tool in oncology studies and is being investigated in preclinical therapeutic formulations, often utilizing nanoparticle or liposomal delivery systems to target liver tumors.
