GPCR antagonist

This GPCR antagonist is an early-stage therapeutic candidate being developed by Hope Medicine for the treatment of cancer cachexia. Cancer cachexia is a multi-factorial syndrome characterized by an ongoing loss of skeletal muscle mass, with or without loss of fat mass, that cannot be fully reversed by conventional nutritional support and leads to progressive functional impairment. The drug is designed to function as an antagonist of a specific, though currently undisclosed, G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that plays a role in the metabolic or inflammatory signaling pathways associated with tissue wasting. As of the current pipeline disclosures, the program is in the exploratory or preclinical stages of development.
