Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ConfometRx is developing a small molecule targeting G protein-coupled receptor 75 (GPR75) for the treatment of obesity. GPR75 is a GPCR involved in energy homeostasis and metabolic regulation. Genetic evidence indicates that loss-of-function variants in the GPR75 gene are associated with lower body mass index and protection against obesity and type 2 diabetes. The program is currently in the lead optimization stage of preclinical development, focusing on identifying potent ligands that can modulate GPR75 activity to reduce food intake and body weight. Research suggests that inhibition of GPR75 may be particularly effective under high-fat diet conditions.
