Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gproan VLP influenza vaccine is a virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine candidate developed by Gproan Biotech for the prevention of influenza. The vaccine is produced using a baculovirus expression system in insect cell cultures, a platform designed to present a broader panel of influenza antigens, such as hemagglutinin and neuraminidase, in their native conformation. Unlike traditional egg-based vaccines, this VLP approach mimics the structure of the influenza virus without containing infectious genetic material, potentially offering enhanced immunogenicity and a more efficient manufacturing process. The candidate is currently in preclinical development.
