GPVI-inhibitory antibodies are a program of monoclonal antibody Fab fragments being developed by AdvanceCOR in collaboration with MorphoSys for the treatment of arterial thrombosis. These antibody fragments were identified from MorphoSys's Ylanthia-Fab library and are designed to target Glycoprotein VI (GPVI), a key receptor for collagen on the platelet surface. By blocking the interaction between collagen and GPVI, the antibodies inhibit collagen-induced platelet activation and thrombus formation at the site of vascular injury. Preclinical data suggest that this approach can effectively prevent arterial thrombosis without increasing the risk of bleeding, as general hemostasis remains largely unaffected. Additionally, the program has shown potential in animal models for the prevention of abdominal aortic aneurysm formation.
