Overview

GPX4-AAV is an adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector designed to deliver and overexpress the glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) gene. GPX4 is a key antioxidant enzyme that protects cells against ferroptosis by reducing lipid hydroperoxides. GPX4-AAV is primarily utilized in preclinical research to investigate the therapeutic potential of GPX4 overexpression in mitigating ferroptosis-mediated cellular damage in diseases such as diabetic kidney disease (DKD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and retinal ischemia/reperfusion injury.
