GR1603 is a monoclonal antibody developed by Genrix (Shanghai) Biopharmaceuticals that targets the type I interferon receptor (also known as interferon-alpha/beta receptor or IFNAR1). It is being developed for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The drug works by inhibiting signaling through the type I interferon pathway, which plays a key role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases such as lupus. Clinical studies have shown that GR1603 can significantly inhibit IFN gene signatures at higher doses and has demonstrated an acceptable safety and tolerability profile in healthy volunteers. The drug exhibits non-linear pharmacokinetics over tested dose ranges and does not appear to induce anti-drug antibodies.
