Overview

GRA2405 is an investigational small molecule phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor developed by Guangzhou Respiratory Drug Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the Guangzhou National Laboratory. It is primarily being developed for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Formulated as a suspension for inhaled administration, GRA2405 works by inhibiting the PDE4 enzyme, which prevents the breakdown of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in inflammatory and airway smooth muscle cells. This action leads to the suppression of pro-inflammatory mediator release and promotes bronchodilation. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical trials in China to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in healthy volunteers and patients with COPD.
