Overview

Grafeel is a recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor biosimilar containing **filgrastim**, developed and manufactured by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories. It was launched in 2001 as the company's first biosimilar product and is used to reduce the duration and severity of neutropenia by stimulating proliferation, differentiation, and activation of neutrophil precursors in the bone marrow. Grafeel acts as an agonist of the granulocyte colony-stimulating factor receptor, thereby activating downstream signaling pathways including JAK-STAT, and is used in settings such as chemotherapy-induced neutropenia, febrile neutropenia, acute myeloid leukemia receiving chemotherapy, bone marrow transplantation, hematopoietic progenitor cell mobilization, and severe chronic neutropenia. It is administered by subcutaneous or intravenous injection and is positioned as a biosimilar to Neupogen.
