Overview

GRALE T cells are an investigational autologous or syngeneic cell therapy consisting of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)-specific cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTLs). They are produced using the G-Rex Accelerated (GRALE) manufacturing process, which is designed to be a faster and simpler method for expanding T cells that target specific viral antigens. These T cells are specifically trained to recognize and eliminate cells expressing EBV proteins, primarily Latent Membrane Protein 1 (LMP1) and Latent Membrane Protein 2 (LMP2). These proteins are commonly expressed in Type II EBV latency associated with malignancies such as Hodgkin lymphoma, certain non-Hodgkin lymphomas, and T/NK-cell lymphoproliferative diseases. By targeting these viral antigens, GRALE T cells aim to provide a targeted anti-tumor immune response with limited toxicity to healthy tissues that do not harbor the virus.
