Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Granaticin B is a small molecule antibiotic produced by certain strains of *Streptomyces violaceoruber*. It exhibits significant antibacterial activity against various Gram-positive bacteria through multiple proposed mechanisms including inhibition at early stages of RNA biosynthesis and oxidative effects on cellular components. Currently under investigation for use in acute leukemia due to its ability to inhibit cell division cycle proteins such as CDC7 kinase.
