Overview

Granulocyte infusion, specifically as investigated in clinical trial NCT06240767, is an experimental cell-based immunotherapy developed by Wuxi People's Hospital. The therapy consists of human neutrophils (granulocytes) that have been characterized or modified to possess 'anti-cancer mouse characteristics,' a property inspired by research into cancer-resistant mouse lineages that exhibit potent innate immunity against lethal tumors. Administered as a series of intravenous infusions, these specialized neutrophils are intended to leverage innate immune pathways to directly target cancer cells and modulate the tumor microenvironment. The therapy is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 trial for patients with advanced recurrent solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer, who have exhausted standard treatment options.
