Overview

Granulox is a topical haemoglobin spray designed to promote healing in chronic and hard-to-heal wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, arterial and mixed leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, post-surgical wounds, and sloughy or infected wounds. The spray contains purified haemoglobin molecules in aqueous solution; when applied to the wound bed, these molecules bind oxygen from ambient air and transport it through wound exudate directly to cells in the wound bed, overcoming hypoxia and supporting tissue repair. Granulox's mechanism is based on simplified diffusion of oxygen facilitated by exogenous haemoglobin, creating a continuous cycle of oxygen delivery lasting up to 72 hours per application. Clinical studies have demonstrated that, when used alongside standard care, Granulox statistically significantly accelerates wound healing, reduces slough, lessens pain, and improves granulation and epithelialisation. It is CE-marked as a Class III medical device in the European Union and is well tolerated with no significant product-related adverse effects reported[1][2][3][4][5].
