Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Grass MATA MPL** is an aluminium-free, short-course pre-seasonal subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy developed by Allergy Therapeutics for grass pollen-induced seasonal allergic rhinitis and rhinoconjunctivitis. It contains a standardized multi-grass pollen extract chemically modified with glutaraldehyde to form an allergoid, adsorbed to microcrystalline L-tyrosine as a depot carrier, and adjuvanted with monophosphoryl lipid A. The allergoid is intended to induce allergen-specific immune tolerance with reduced immediate IgE-mediated allergenicity, while monophosphoryl lipid A activates innate immune signaling to support a more protective allergen-specific immune response. The product was authorized in Germany in December 2025 and is commercialized there as Grassmuno.
