Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Grass pollen allergen extract mixture is a biological allergen extract product developed by Diater (Laboratorio de Diagnóstico y Aplicaciones Terapéuticas S.A.) for use in biological standardization and diagnostic skin prick testing. It is composed of a mixture of proteins derived from various grass pollen species. The product has been evaluated in a completed Phase 2 clinical study in Spain to assess the biological activity and specificity of individual and mixed grass pollen allergen extracts using cutaneous reactivity (skin prick) testing in patients hypersensitive to grass pollen allergens, aiming to establish in-house reference preparations measured in histamine equivalent prick (HEP) units. It targets the IgE-mediated immune response in sensitized individuals (specifically allergen-specific IgE on mast cells and basophils) and is indicated for patients with allergic rhinitis and grass pollen allergy.
