GrB-Fc-VEGF is a preclinical-stage recombinant fusion protein developed by AbBC Therapies using its proprietary Targeted Granzyme B Immunotherapy (TGI) platform. The therapeutic candidate consists of a human Granzyme B enzyme fused to an Fc fragment and a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) targeting moiety. It is designed to selectively bind to KDR (VEGFR2), a receptor highly expressed on tumor vascular endothelial cells and in the pathological neovascularization associated with certain ocular diseases. Upon binding and internalization, the Granzyme B payload induces apoptosis through three independent and irreversible intracellular pathways, potentially overcoming common drug resistance mechanisms. The drug is being developed for broad oncology applications as well as ophthalmology conditions, including wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and choroidal neovascularization.
