Overview

GRC 39815 is a novel small molecule drug developed by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals as an inhaled therapy targeting respiratory diseases, specifically chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It acts as an inverse agonist of the retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptor gamma t (RORγt), also known as nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group F member 3. By inhibiting RORγt, the drug aims to modulate immune responses associated with inflammation in the lungs. The compound is classified among anti-inflammatories and represents a new molecular entity in this therapeutic area. Its development has reached Phase I clinical trials for COPD in the United States, while preclinical studies have been conducted for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis[1][2][5][8].
