Green tea oil (GTO) is a natural product derived from green tea, containing polyphenol and catechin compounds known for their potent antioxidant properties. It has been investigated for its potential to modulate hyperlipidemia, oxidative stress, and hematological abnormalities. In an experimental multiple sclerosis (MS) rat model, GTO treatment demonstrated a significant reduction in elevated total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, and very low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol levels, while also modulating high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol. It alleviated oxidative stress by decreasing thiobarbituric acid reactive substance concentration and increasing levels of glutathione, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione peroxidase. Furthermore, GTO improved hematological parameters by increasing red blood cell count, hemoglobin content, lymphocyte percentage, and hematocrit, while reducing elevated white blood cell count, platelet count, and neutrophil percentage.
