Overview

GRF312 is an investigational ophthalmic solution consisting of immunoglobulin (IG) eye drops derived from pooled human plasma collected from healthy donors. Developed as a novel therapy for dry eye disease (DED), GRF312 leverages the broad-spectrum anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties of immunoglobulins to address the underlying inflammatory processes that contribute to DED, rather than merely alleviating symptoms. The drug is administered topically as eye drops and represents a potential first-in-class treatment for ocular surface diseases with an immune-mediated component. The development of GRF312 is led by Grifols in collaboration with Selagine, which originated as a spin-out company from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Early clinical studies have shown promising results in reducing signs and symptoms of DED with good tolerability and safety profiles[3][5][7][9].
