GRI-NKT

GRI-NKT (including the lead candidate GRI-0803) is a platform of small molecule agonists developed by GRI Bio that target Type 2 diverse Natural Killer T (dNKT) cells. These cells are a specialized subset of T cells that exert immunomodulatory effects, helping to maintain immune tolerance and suppress the pro-inflammatory activities of Type 1 NKT cells and other immune effectors. By specifically activating Type 2 dNKT cells, these compounds aim to restore immune balance in patients with autoimmune, inflammatory, and fibrotic diseases. The lead asset, GRI-0803, is currently undergoing IND-enabling studies for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), with preclinical data suggesting potential efficacy in reducing inflammation and organ damage.
