Overview
Grippferon with loratadine is a combination nasal ointment developed and manufactured by Firn M for the prevention and treatment of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), particularly in patients with allergic rhinitis. The formulation combines recombinant human interferon alfa-2b with loratadine, a second-generation antihistamine. The interferon component binds to the interferon alpha/beta receptor (IFNAR), triggering a signaling cascade that induces antiviral and immunomodulatory effects to combat viral replication. Loratadine acts as a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist, which reduces allergic symptoms and prevents nasal mucosal edema, addressing the increased susceptibility to respiratory infections often seen in patients with allergic diseases. The drug is approved in Russia for use in adults and is applied intranasally.
