Grippostad Day

Grippostad Day is an oral combination medication developed by STADA Arzneimittel for the symptomatic relief of the common cold and influenza. The formulation consists of three small molecule active ingredients: paracetamol (300 mg), caffeine (25 mg), and phenylephrine hydrochloride (5 mg). Paracetamol serves as an analgesic and antipyretic by inhibiting prostaglandin G/H synthase 1 and 2 (COX-1 and COX-2). Caffeine acts as an adenosine A1 and A2a receptor antagonist and a non-selective phosphodiesterase inhibitor, which potentiates the analgesic effects of paracetamol and helps counteract the fatigue associated with viral infections. Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic decongestant that targets alpha-1 adrenergic receptors to reduce nasal mucosal swelling. The drug is specifically indicated for daytime use to alleviate fever, aches, pains, sore throat, and nasal congestion in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older.
