Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Grippostad Heißgetränk is an over-the-counter (OTC) combination medication developed by STADA Arzneimittel. It is formulated as a powder for oral solution, intended to be dissolved in hot water. The product contains two active ingredients: **paracetamol** (600 mg), which serves as an analgesic and antipyretic, and **ascorbic acid** (Vitamin C, 50 mg), which provides antioxidant support. Paracetamol works by inhibiting the enzymes Prostaglandin G/H synthase 1 (COX-1) and Prostaglandin G/H synthase 2 (COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain and fever. Ascorbic acid is included to support the immune system and provide antioxidant effects during infection. It is primarily indicated for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, such as headaches and toothaches, and for the reduction of fever, particularly when associated with common cold symptoms.
