Overview

GRN-1 is an experimental mRNA therapeutic delivered via a patented solid lipid nanoparticle (SLN) system, currently under development by Grann Pharmaceuticals. It is designed to treat metabolic and liver-related conditions, including obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD/MASLD), liver cirrhosis, and hepatic steatosis. The mechanism involves mRNA encoding proteins that modulate metabolic pathways to reduce the accumulation of adipose tissue and hepatic fat. Preclinical in vivo studies using MS-NASH mouse models have demonstrated efficacy in reducing hepatic steatosis and inflammation, indicating potential utility across various metabolic, alcoholic, or lysosomal storage-related disorders.
