The Group A Streptococcus vaccine is a preclinical-stage injectable biologic candidate being developed by US Specialty Formulations (USSF) in partnership with VaxForm. It is designed to target *Streptococcus pyogenes* (Group A Streptococcus, GAS), a bacterium responsible for a wide spectrum of human diseases, including streptococcal pharyngitis (strep throat), impetigo, and life-threatening invasive conditions such as necrotizing fasciitis and streptococcal toxic shock syndrome. Unlike USSF's QYNDR platform, which focuses on oral mucosal delivery, this specific candidate is formulated as an injectable vaccine intended to elicit a systemic immune response against GAS antigens to prevent infection and subsequent complications.
