Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Group ACYW135 meningococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine is a quadrivalent vaccine developed by Beijing Zhifei Lvzhu Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Chongqing Zhifei Biological Products. It is designed to provide active immunization against invasive meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, Y, and W135. The vaccine is composed of purified capsular polysaccharides from each of the four serogroups, each covalently conjugated to a tetanus toxoid (TT) carrier protein. This conjugation technology converts the T-cell independent polysaccharide antigens into T-cell dependent antigens, which significantly enhances immunogenicity and induces long-lasting immunological memory, particularly in infants and young children. The vaccine is administered via intramuscular injection and has completed Phase 3 clinical trials in China, with marketing authorization applications submitted to the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).
