Overview
Group ACYW135 Meningococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine is a quadrivalent vaccine developed and manufactured by Hualan Biological Engineering, Inc. for the prevention of epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis. It is a lyophilized preparation containing purified capsular polysaccharides extracted from Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, Y, and W135. As a polysaccharide vaccine, it functions as an immunostimulant by inducing the production of serogroup-specific bactericidal antibodies, providing active immunity against meningococcal infections. The vaccine was approved and launched in China in December 2011 and is indicated for use in individuals aged 2 years and older.
