Overview
Group ACYW135 Meningococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine is a quadrivalent vaccine developed and manufactured by Hualan Biological Engineering. It is designed to prevent epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, Y, and W135. The vaccine is a biologic composed of purified capsular polysaccharides from these four serogroups, formulated as a lyophilized preparation with lactose as a stabilizer. It is indicated for use in individuals aged 2 years and older and has been approved for marketing in China since 2012. The vaccine works by inducing the production of specific bactericidal antibodies against the targeted meningococcal serogroups.
